board recruitment discussion
So, as calculated by the representative from /out/ yearerday, a vast majority of the boards on 4chan are not represented. If we want moot to take us seriously, this should be the first thing we work as a group on fixing, so I started a new thread to discuss this, because honestly the general discussion thread is becoming difficult to manage.
The boards that are so far not represented as of the time of this post are as follows, I will edit this list when it comes to my attention that a representative has stepped forward:
/d /e /f / g / gif / h / hr / m / p / r / s / t / u / v / vg / w / wg / [i / ic] [r9k] [cm / hm / lgbt / y] [3 / adv / an / asp / biz / cgl / ck / co / diy / fa / fit / gd / hc / int / jp / lit / mlp / n / po / pol / sci / tg / toy / trv / tv / vp /
Now, /a/, /o/, /wsg/, /out/, /x/, /c/, and myself have had a late night recruitment tactics discussion and have come to the conclusion that a ban for off topic conversation is probable if we approach these boards directly, so we came to the conclusion that a daily thread on /b/ and careful treading from volunteers who don't usually frequent the board they try to recruit, and therefore wouldn't care about a two week board ban, would be the best tactic to get our name out there.
These are by no means our "official" tactics, just helpful suggestions.
Organization is key though, so let this thread be a volunteer thread to avoid confusion. Check here before you go to post the daily /b/ thread or going to recruit another board to see if it hasn't been done already first. If five people go to /toy/ and all try recruiting at different times, that pretty much guarantees a ban and gives us a bad image among the general population of the site as well.
I'm a little pessimistic about getting volunteers, but if I turn out to be wrong, they will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
The floor's open, boys. Recruitment discussion and volunteer thread is a go.

Re: board recruitment discussion
I'm also pessimistic, but this has turned out pretty well so far.
Also, if we are going to have a daily recruitment thread on /b/, we should definitely notify the other reps before we post it, so we aren't just ignored and immediately saged.
That being said, if we want to gather enough reps we should definitely try for at least one thread a day.

Re: board recruitment discussion
Right. I brought that up. Anyone who posts a daily recruitment thread on /b/ or tries to recruit another board should post here first to avoid bans and flooding. It also gives the illusion that were organized and know what we're doing. Lol
Re: board recruitment discussion
Well you beat me to the topic creation . It was discussed on recruiting from different time zones if that is still up we might need to do some early morning or late night recruitment threads on /b/ or other boards.
We should be able to fill up many of the open slots in short order but recruitment will be needed, recruitment from /b/ was discussed as was recruitment from various boards. Global Rules (10. No spamming or flooding of any kind. No intentionally evading spam/post filters), and (11. Advertising (all forms) is also not welcome—this includes any type of referral linking, "offers", soliciting, begging, stream threads, etc) will need to be observed. As well as rules covering the specific boards.

Re: board recruitment discussion
Also it was brought up for a porn rep to cover several boards until they are filled such as /e/, /h/, /gif/, /hr/, /s/, /u/, /hc/, /hm/, and /y/. I will assume that is still on the table, some overlap is unavoidable for a time.

Probably. I'm not saying we wouldn't get volunteer reps, but it's completely off-topic and would link to this forum.

I do not know, if we could get a Mod in our pocket that would help, I am working with a Static IP on this end but I will take a bullet or two for the cause.
Re: board recruitment discussion
Static ip here also. I don't think I'd be willing to risk going on /gif/ (we're all men here, right?) but I literally don't visit any other board except /sp/ and /b/, so I could recruit wherever needed.

I bounce around on /lit/ /tv/ /out/ /k/ and /b/. I hate to jinx myself but I still feel most of this can be done on /b/ with little risk, unfortunately the mods will have to keep an eye on the new users for a while.

I agree with this. Lots of lurkers from other boards on /b/, and if we still need a few boards after getting some more covered, then we resort to posting on those boards, with people who won't mind a short ban.
Re: board recruitment discussion
Alright let me know when the thread goes up, post link too. I'll try and be free for it
Re: board recruitment discussion
I have a dynamic IP so if it comes down to having to jump board to board, I'm more than willing to take the risk of getting banned.

I can do a VPN as well if we come to that

Re: board recruitment discussion
So did we ever get a thread up today? I heard talk of getting one up later tonight at the same time as last night-- seemed to be peak hours.
There was talk of our forum being a back-tracing site, which I believe stopped representatives from registering-- though the sensible reps should be able to see through that, I think it best to keep rumors of the sort from spreading-- if word gets around our link could be reported and blacklisted.

I think right now would be a good time (since this is about the time the original thread was made), though I don't know how to go about it.

I'll see about something. I think I got an idea. I might end up throwing in a logo with it as well.

Alright, so I can't do the logo because I don't have Photoshop with me right now and pixlr can't curve text, but I think we could do something like this:
What do you guys think?
ATTENTION!
The 4chan Congress is looking to improve the site we all know and love, and we are looking for a representative from each board.
The following boards need a representative: <list boards here>
This is not a joke or a troll. If you would like to assist in our effort to change 4chan for the better, please go to https://4congress.forumotion.com/ for more information and to inquire about joining the congress.

Re: board recruitment discussion
Save the link for the actual thread. I think if a janitor sees a link geek automatically delete it. Get people pumped about the state of the site and what they would like to see changed. One you have people throwing out ideas, drop the link.
